Why get trained in First aid?
First Aid training includes everything but CPR/AED but can be combined with that training. First aid tends to happen more commonly than CPR emergencies. You can choose an Adult or Pediatric certification. First aid training includes the following information:
Basic
- Scene Safety
- Call or text 911, landline vs cell
- BBP-Universal precautions
- Good Samaritan Law
Medical Emergencies
- Asthma
- Allergic Reaction
- Heart attack
- Diabetes
- Fainting
- Stroke
- Seizure
- Injury Emergencies
- Internal bleeding
- Bleeding from nose
- Loss of tooth
- Sand or small rocks in the eye
- Penetrating object in the body
- Amputation
- Head injury
- Neck and Spine injury
- Broken bones
- Burns
Environmental Emergencies
- Animal, snake, insect, and human bites
- Marine animals
- Heat Exhaustion/Stroke
- Dehydration
- Hyperthermia
- Poison exposure
We teach you how to remain calm, access the safety of the situation, and begin to help until EMS arrives in many of these situations. We help you to determine if calling/texting 911 is necessary. We talk about where to transport someone if they don’t want to go by ambulance, refusing an ambulance, and more.
